Why We Built Arabi App: Our Mission to Save the Arabic Language for the Next Generation
When we looked at the landscape of Arabic educational tools for children living in the West, we noticed a massive problem.
The world has evolved. Children are growing up surrounded by highly engaging, multi-million dollar interactive games, beautifully animated cartoons, and seamless technology.
Yet, when it comes to learning Arabic, we are still handing them the exact same black-and-white flashcards and boring textbooks from 1995.
The Disconnect
It is no wonder that children resist learning Arabic. When their English learning tools involve gamification and interactive rewards, and their Arabic tools involve sitting quietly and memorizing, they subconsciously associate the Arabic language with boredom and chores.
We realized that if we wanted the next generation of diaspora children to love their mother tongue, we had to meet them where they were. We had to compete with the quality of the games they were already playing.
Building Arabi App
That is why we built the Arabi App. We didn't want to just create another digital textbook. We wanted to build a world-class, gamified educational experience.
We spent months designing vibrant animations, recording crystal-clear native voiceovers, and engineering interactive puzzles that reward children for their curiosity.
Our Philosophy:
- Zero Ads: Learning should never be interrupted by inappropriate or distracting advertisements.
- Play-Based Learning: If the child feels like they are doing homework, we have failed. The app must feel like a game.
- Empowering Parents: You don't need to be perfectly fluent to use the app with your child. We provide the native audio; you provide the encouragement.
